Staff Accountant
(Marietta, GA)
We are seeking a hands-on Staff Accountant with 1–3 years of experience to support core accounting functions in a growing construction environment. This role is focused on day-to-day accounting execution and requires strong attention to detail, organization, and follow-through.
This role is designed for an accountant with existing hands-on experience in core accounting functions (AP/AR, reconciliations, journal entries, or month-end close support) who can contribute immediately and continue to build on that foundation.
This is a full-time, in-office position in Marietta, GA, reporting to the Director of Finance. Core hours are 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
Compensation: $55,000–$70,000 annually, based on experience. The upper end of the range is reserved for candidates with strong, directly relevant accounting experience.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Operations and Close
Execute and support core accounting functions
Prepare journal entries and perform bank, AP, and AR reconciliations
Maintain general ledger accuracy and supporting documentation
Assist with financial reporting and supporting schedules
Construction and Project Accounting
Support job cost tracking and project accounting processes
Assist with Work-in-Progress (WIP) schedules and reporting
Support billing processes, including pay applications and retainage tracking
Work with Project Managers to gather and validate financial data
Accounts Payable and Receivable
Process vendor invoices with proper coding and documentation
Support AP workflows and payment processing
Assist with invoicing and collections tracking
Maintain organized and accurate records
Payroll and Compliance
Assist with payroll processing and review for accuracy
Support certified payroll reporting (Davis-Bacon / prevailing wage)
Ensure alignment between payroll, job costing, and project data
Systems and Process Support
Work within accounting and project systems (QuickBooks, Procore, etc.)
Use Excel for reconciliations, tracking, and analysis
Maintain organized, audit-ready documentation
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
1–3 years of direct, hands-on accounting experience (internship or professional experience)
Experience with reconciliations, AP/AR, or month-end close processes
Intermediate proficiency in Excel
Above-average English proficiency is required due to the nature of the role
Strong attention to detail and organization
Ability to pass background check and drug screening
Ability to work in-office in Marietta, GA
Notary Commission required upon hire or within 60 days
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in construction, job cost, or project-based accounting
Working knowledge of GAAP
Experience with QuickBooks or similar systems
