Position Summary

CVGCO is seeking motivated interns interested in gaining hands-on exposure to commercial construction project management and estimating. Interns will work alongside experienced Project Managers, Estimators, and operational leaders to learn how commercial construction projects progress from preconstruction and bidding through project completion.

This internship provides practical experience in estimating, project planning, scheduling, procurement, budgeting, documentation management, field operations, and project closeout activities within the commercial construction industry.

This position requires successful completion of a pre-employment drug screening.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with project documentation, reporting, and administrative tasks.

  • Support the preparation and tracking of submittals, RFIs, and project logs.

  • Assist with quantity takeoffs and review construction drawings and specifications.

  • Support estimate development, pricing activities, and bid preparation.

  • Help monitor project schedules, milestones, and material deliveries.

  • Assist with procurement and material tracking activities.

  • Participate in project meetings and document action items.

  • Support budget tracking and cost management efforts.

  • Observe field operations, shop activities, and project coordination efforts.

  • Assist with project closeout documentation, including warranties and operation manuals.

  • Collaborate with Project Management, Estimating, Operations, and Field Leadership teams.

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, Supply Chain Management, Project Management, or a related field.

  • Minimum GPA of 3.0 preferred.

  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.

  • Interest in construction, estimating, project management, or business operations.

  • Leadership experience through student organizations, volunteer activities, athletics, internships, or part-time employment is a plus.

  • Familiarity with construction drawings or technical documents is helpful but not required.
