Estimator

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Estimator to support our preconstruction and bidding efforts.

This role is responsible for developing accurate, competitive proposals while building strong relationships with General Contractors and contributing to continuous improvement of our estimating processes.

The ideal candidate brings both technical expertise and strong communication skills, with the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

Proposal Development and Submission

• Prepare and submit complete, accurate, and competitive bid proposals

• Ensure all submissions meet deadlines and align with company profitability targets

• Review project documents thoroughly to confirm scope alignment and minimize risk

Bid Follow-Up and Client Engagement

• Proactively follow up with General Contractors on submitted proposals

• Gather feedback on pricing, scope, and competitiveness

• Track project status, award timelines, and future bid opportunities

Relationship Management

• Build and maintain strong working relationships with General Contractors

• Clearly communicate scope, inclusions, exclusions, and assumptions

• Support scope comparisons and clarifications during the bid process

Process Improvement

• Identify opportunities to improve estimating accuracy, efficiency, and turnaround time

• Contribute to the development of standardized processes and best practices

• Leverage technology and tools to reduce errors and streamline workflows

Technical Proficiency

• Utilize estimating and project management tools effectively, including:
  Microsoft Office Suite, BuildingConnected/Bid Board Pro, Procore, Bluebeam, and related platforms

• Maintain organized and accurate documentation throughout the estimating process

Collaboration

• Partner with estimators, project managers, and internal teams to evaluate products and vendors

• Share insights, lessons learned, and best practices to strengthen team performance

Strategic Contribution and Value Engineering

• Assist in developing conceptual budgets and early-stage estimates

• Identify cost-saving opportunities and value engineering options

• Provide input on constructability and project approach during preconstruction

Qualifications

• Experience in estimating within construction or a related industry

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• High attention to detail and accuracy

• Effective communication and relationship-building skills

• Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities

Compensation
Compensation: $70,000 – $95,000 based on experience and demonstrated estimating capability. Higher compensation considered for candidates with proven bid win history and GC relationships.
